about

This album has been a long time in the making......

Nicole joined Slim Pickins when she was still a young solo acoustic
artist. Little did the rest of the band foresee how her extraordinary vocal talents and songwriting would shape the band and help deliver three standout CD's .

She brought "Return Smile" to the band as a short acoustic number which was eventually worked up to the number that opens this CD. The piano on the track was improvised by a teenage Johnny Miller who went on to find fame and fortune with Tallon .

"Nothing I Can Do" was another of Nicole's acoustic songs given a band treatment.

"My Love Lies Unrequited" was recorded by Nicole on her own, during some spare time in one of the band's full recording sessions.

The other songs were written by Paul Chamberlain and Tony Price knowing that Nicole would deliver!

"It Should Have Been Me" was runner up in an International song writing competition . ..one more vote and who knows !!

"Scenes From a Crowded Bar" was the title track of Slim Pickins' final CD.

"Damaged Heart" is just Nicole doing what she does best with two
acoustic guitars. Nicole helped Paul and Tony to write "See You Tonight" and the Cajun style accordion was played by a teenage Anneley McMillan.

Thanks to Dave Morris who produced the original tracks and Dave Howard from Paddywack Records who helped with the re-mastering of these songs.
